From December 6th to 9th, INCEEM 2023 was held online, marking the second edition of the International Conference on “Energy & Environmental Materials,” organized by the School of Basic Sciences and the Department of Environmental Sciences Research at Sharda (India).
This is a significant scientific meeting where various topics are discussed, including “Environmental Pollution and Remediation” and “Waste Management,” aligning with the themes of LIFE RESTART.
During this event, Professor Annamaria Visco, the scientific lead of UNIME for the LIFE RESTART project, delivered a presentation by invitation on “Biodegradation of bioplastics from agro-wastes,” showcasing the LIFE RESTART project and presenting some preliminary results related to biodegradation, an area the research group she leads at the University of Messina’s Department of Engineering is actively exploring.
Within the scope of INCEM 2023, Dr. Cristina Scolaro (Department of Engineering, UNIME) also presented, by invitation, on “Effect of photodegradation aging on the performance of Bio-Polybutylene Succinate,” discussing other preliminary findings regarding the effects of sterilizing radiation on bioplastics studied within the project.
In both cases, the topics addressed received appreciation, with questions raised during the talks and requests for scientific collaboration.
