SOFIGREEN: A Successful Event in France for the Green Transition of Social Enterprises

On February 6th and 7th, 2025, the French cities of Valence and Romans-sur-Isère hosted the SOFIGREEN Cross-Border Event, bringing together over 50 social economy enterprises from Italy, France, and Spain, represented by more than 70 participants. The activities were supported by 10 tutors, made available by the project partners to facilitate collaboration and promote dialogue.
The event marked the culmination of the SOFIGREEN training path and proved to be a valuable opportunity for networking, sharing ideas and experiences, and building concrete partnerships. The participating enterprises took part in thematic workshops on:

  • European funding opportunities for social economy projects,
  • Measuring environmental and social impact,
  • Common challenges in the green transition.

On February 7th, a visit to the Cité de la Chaussure in Romans-sur-Isère provided participants with a tangible example of economic and social regeneration through the revitalization of local craftsmanship.
Over the course of the two days, meaningful connections were established among enterprises operating in diverse sectors such as:

  • Production and craftsmanship,
  • Sustainable tourism and mobility,
  • Agriculture and food,
  • Culture and educational services,
  • Recycling and waste management.

Feedback collected through evaluation forms highlighted a high level of satisfaction, both with the organization of the event and the quality of its content and interactions. Many enterprises expressed a desire to strengthen networking opportunities through the creation of a shared digital platform to support ongoing exchange and co-design initiatives.
Finally, many participants expressed interest in continuing the dialogue initiated during the event, with the aim of arriving at the next SOFIGREEN meetings with joint project proposals based on concrete synergies
