One Planet, One Humanity — Global Webinar Series
What becomes possible when we recognise humanity as a community with a shared destiny, rich in differences, and begin to shape our future together?
Climate change, demographic shifts and widening inequalities are transforming the world we inhabit. These forces meet in the places we call home, shaping people’s opportunities, relationships and freedom to imagine a different life. Our response must connect the future of the planet with everyone’s right to a dignified life and a meaningful part in shaping what comes next.
One Planet, One Humanity opens a space for this collective exploration and invites us to imagine and shape an “eutopian” future together, one grounded in social and environmental justice, alternative to the future being shaped by the dominant capitalist model. Convened by Fondazione MeSSInA, the Sci-Fi Economics Lab and their international partners, four global webinars bring together researchers, practitioners and communities to explore climate and global interdependence, population and environmental limits, societal metamorphosis, and new economic possibilities.
Each conversation connects scientific understanding with experiences rooted in local communities and author Yudhanjaya Wijeratne will bring in relevant speculative thinking from science fiction.
We invite you to bring your experience, questions and hopes to a dialogue about a future we can help create.
