Between 24 and 27 September 2025, Crossing took part in the fourth international conference “RETASTE: Rethinking Food Resources, Losses and Waste”, held in Heraklion, Greece.

The conference presented a wide-ranging programme, with numerous expert speakers and a highly engaged audience, and was divided into three intense days of oral presentations and discussions. The topics covered ranged from agricultural systems and information technology to biomass, sewage sludge management, food losses and new materials.

Professor Valentina Beghetto spoke on behalf of Crossing with a presentation entitled Study of Bio-Based Fillers and Additives For the Production of Biodegradable Biopolymers. Dr Riccardo Samiolo also took part in the event as head of business development and technology transfer.

The conference also provided an important networking opportunity: contacts were made with potential partners interested in the LIFE RESTART project, including Sacmi, Bioenergy Crete, Pikei, Net Mechanics, Enviroplan, and Future Intelligence FINT.

Crossing is discussing possible market applications with these companies, opening up concrete prospects for collaboration and future development.
