Together with Fondazione Messina, on June 11 and 12, ecobuddy took part in World Bio Markets, a business development event dedicated to the global industrial biomanufacturing sector.

The event facilitates commercial connections and generates deal-making opportunities among biotech developers and producers, global brands and buyers, community enablers, investors and financiers, as well as suppliers.

The event, held in The Hague, Netherlands, features a unique “meetings-first” format, making it easy for companies to meet new customers and partners, expand business development pipelines, generate sales, secure investment, and scale up quickly.

The focus is on practical, business-driven conversations, first-hand insights from brands, investors and technology builders, and curated one-to-one meetings tailored around actual offerings—not just casual networking.

Business Development

From monomers to microbial proteins, from scalability challenges to market dynamics, World Bio Markets zooms in on what drives this sector forward: adoption, acceleration, and real-world outcomes.

Among the key themes during these two days were artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the scalability of bio-based solutions through cutting-edge technologies.

Participants were deeply engaged in strategic meetings, brainstorming how to move from lab to market faster, safer, and more efficiently.

Discussions on AI in biomanufacturing were front and center—this technology is speeding up the transition to renewable energy.

  • A high-impact session by Nova Institute NPC explored how artificial intelligence and machine learning are boosting R&D success, reducing failure rates, and validating renewable alternatives in the petrochemical industry.

  • Susterra®️ showcased bio-renewable building blocks that balance performance and sustainability.

  • Synonym introduced a platform designed to bring bioproducts to market faster, proving that the journey from lab to shelf doesn’t have to take years.

  • Finally, Paques Biomaterials closed with a powerful reminder: scaling requires capital, courage, and policy—but the time is now.
