Within the framework of the second edition of the Festival of Sustainability, held in Messina on 16-17-18 May 2024, Prof. Annamaria Visco, Professor of Materials Science and Technology at the University of Messina, was invited by the Municipality of Messina to report on the LIFE RESTART project, co-funded by the European Union under the LIFE Programme, to raise awareness of the production reality linked to the European LIFE RESTART project and in which the University of Messina, with its Department of Engineering, is a partner.

Together with the UNIME PhD students involved in the project (engineers Hossem Belhamdi, Salim Brahimi, and Aldo Jesus Ruta) and Marco Giunta of Ecosmed, they showed the concrete products of the research (vases, forks, caps, 3D printing wire, coffee capsules, and various containers produced by BTH, jewellery produced by the Messina-based brand Oplà -gioe).

The meeting, which was well attended, also attracted the interest of onlookers due to the innovative nature of biomaterials.
